touch of loft wax 002 see’s label head nathaniel garry step out on the a-side with a club ready deep house dj tool. jacking percussion lays a solid groove as electric piano chords and deep pads set the mood, topped off with chopped up vocal samples to get the crowd pumping. london’s timothy clerkin serves up an ebm rave for his remix on the b-side, with a thumping kick drum and arpeggiator bassline sitting under twisted and warped vocals from the original. grab it. pop it in your dj bag. with the a-side for the warm up and the b-side for the peak time slot.

following on from the epic hammer e.p. and subsequent remix package, loft records return for their 7th release enlisting the expertise of crawford to provide two original tracks with remixes from brame & hamo and kiwi. ‘we go back is a soaring synth driven stomper - building around dynamic arps and heavy bass synths, before a driving kick and soaring pads are brought to the fore to create an expertly produced big room anthem. techno rhumba is a chuggier affair laced with spring reverb, floaty arpeggiators, expansive stabs and brooding chords perfect for those early hours of a night. on the flip side, irish duo brame & hamo are first up to take on remix duties for we go back . they rework the arp lines and pads for the intro before dropping it into a tougher techno workout of heavy duty synth stabs, epic ride cymbals and dreamy textures. kiwi then close out with their reimagining of we go back combining a killer tom pattern with those soaring arpeggiators that seem to endlessly resonate around your brain. two great reinterpretations of what was already an amazing track

to celebrate two decades of skylax records, label head hardrock striker teams up with long time friend and co-worker dj sprinkles as skylax house explosion (s.h.e.). they present the second of three exclusive vinyl releases accompanying the mix cd for the 20 years compilation. all three eps will feature previously unreleased music curated by dj sprinkles and hardrock striker. “i think of one time in new york when they wouldn t let me into the loft, and i could hear they were actually playing one of my records on the dance floor at that very moment. i shit you not.” – dj sprinkles, midtown 120 blues (2008).

following hammer s stand out release on loft records last year, canna gets the remix treatment by four killer producers. first up, lauer adds his trademark flavour to the already outstanding title track canna , bending the mind with an acidic top line and classic korg m1 bells.the a2 sees supreems take the techno edge off man ray replacing the drums with a more electro tinged style of rhythm, whilst echoing the synths into the back of the mix to let the drums take the foreground. flip it over and you get two reworkings of manaka . firstly, domenic cappello switches the breaksy flow of the original for a more club ready kick to compliment those stabs, in turn elevating the breakdown to greater effect. in contrast, lord of the isles dives deeper into the breaks feel of hammer s original, adding glitchy samples and oddball synth lines to take this one an even more interplanetary tip.

loft records returns after a fruitful year to kick-start 2017 with three infectious cuts from rising irish talent hammer. the belfast-born producer is well known for his lauded releases on feel my bicep (in collaboration with the label founders) as well as optimo music but production isn t his only facet. hammer has shared dj booths with the likes of hunee, sasha, midland, craig richards and nd_baumecker, whether at his residency at sub club or at his many gigs throughout europe. with loft recordings reflecting on a prosperous 2016, including a class two track release from isaac tichauer, followed by a chart topping remix package featuring hackman, dorsia, lancelot and bicep, hammer s innovative contribution to the imprint looks to follow suit. soaring pads and intricate drums form the overall aesthetic of canna but as the track progresses serene melodies and subtle snare rolls come together to form a harmonious eruption of synths. manaka then shifts to syncopated percussion and spectral nuances before man ray delivers distorted atmospherics and twisted chord sequences to conclude the package.

back on the selector tip, nyc loft trax compiles another volume of really nice deep, chunky and funky grooves! the a side promises a great selection with the first two tracks by kick that funk & bonjour sounding like a 1990 s chicago meets paris reunion! the 3rd track by subtle approach is created using deep dirty sliced and diced samples blended to perfection: stellar work. then there is a totally different vibe on the b-side starting off with a brazilian house groove by dubrazil surely influenced by the maw sound no doubt! next blackdub s classic disco meets detroit piece -melodies of dub- gives us a bit of theo parish or kenny dixon jr. feeling, hot! the final track by pascal cordoba is jazzy groove touched by australia s dj freestyle, who is on the radar lately due to the jordan fields & roy davis jr. warehouse find of -the session- on nu jack city records. you should have all 8 of the nyc loft trax vinyl at this point if not, why not?

nyc loft trax exploded onto the scene a year ago with a white label containing unreleased dat tape archives from the 1990 s. people lost their minds and it proceeded to sellout of shops in what seemed like minutes! with anything that is from an unknown lost world you have your doubters, but those that know could hear and feel the validity of these authenthic tapes. you seriously could not capture the vibe that obviously was witnessed on that record. the label continued to dig into various sources to release all types of unreleased and amazingly good records. so with the integrity we see this label exercise get excited as this is another selection of lost yet found 1990 s dat tape trax! this is the real deal, let s not kid ourselves now. lots of hot heat on this one containing deep, dubs and disco! side note: the city in particular has a nu groove records story attached to it. basically it is the instrumental of an unreleased remix. that s all we have been told on that one. interesting! grab this now! expect this to go fast!

another absolutely instant classic this collection is! one can only imagine what the history of each of these lost grooves could be surely referencing larry heard s mystery of love in the title no doubt! you can believe there is something special going on here taking you in many directions with something special to feel. this is yet again another magic moment coming from this unknown entity of who knows who.

repress 2018... following on from isaac tichauer s street lessons release, the mysterious loft records calls in the talents of bicep, hackman, dorsia and lancelot for a choicest remix package. the french express signing turned many heads when he dropped his lauded devotion lp back in 2012, and since then the australian producer has risen to become a formidable name within modern day electronic music. therefore it s only fitting that an all-star cast were chosen to remix his latest release on loft records. bicep, who had an enormous 2015 with releases on aus and 50 weapons, begin the release with the only remix of higher level - a break infused cut fashioned for the dancefloor with a penetrating melody, echoing vocals and soaring pads. the first of three street lessons remixes then comes from hackman, known for his work on 20/20 vision and futureboogie, who incorporates serene synths and subtle stabs to transform the original into a quirky renovation with elements of funk. london duo dorsia then step up with a cacophony of sounds that build in suspense with the introduction of fuzzy atmospherics, until fellow australian and w&o street tracks artist lancelot generates a cavernous dub containing the originals infectious hook whilst implementing resounding rimshots and wobbly keys.

australian producer isaac tichauer drops two infectious house tracks on the ever popular house of disco off shoot label loft records

the “meet us at the loft” e.p. is a various artists project marking the third release from new york born and now berlin based label l.a.g. it’s an eclectic record featuring rising producers dj richard, hinode, jon hester as well as label head arthur kimskii’s first solo release. various cuts featuring dub techno tones with house inflections are offered from arthur kimskii and jon hester. left field leaning expressions steeped with soul, dynamic percussive rhythms and driving toms anchors the offering from dj richard. analog warmth in the form of electro from hinode rounds out the release.

after a successful launch with tracks from citizen and ejeca, loft records returns with its second single this march, entitled ghana by dorsia, and backed with reworks from hnny, jay shepheard and roberto rodriguez.
